Park Reservations

General Information

Specific areas can be reserved at all parks on a user fee basis. To guarantee park reservations, all reservations must be made at seven (7) working days in advance of the date of the event.

Park Use

Those who wish to use the park on a first come, first served basis are not required to pay a user fee. However, private or special events are required to reserve park spaces. Should a private party reserve a particular area, those who have not paid the park user fee will have to relocate to another area.

Prohibited

The following are prohibited in all City of Alamogordo Parks unless otherwise noted:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Fireworks
  • Glass Containers
  • Horses or horseback riding
  • Overnight parking and camping
  • Trucks or motor vehicles on turf or other unauthorized area(s)



Griggs Field

Permits

The following require permits:

  • Private Events 
    • Picnics, reunions, weddings, parties, etc. 
    • Use of jumping balloons, dunk tanks, tents, etc at private events. Users must provide proof of insurance and these must be used in authorized areas only.
    • Must be booked through the Alamogordo Family Recreation Center (575-439-4142).
  • Special Events
    • Any event open to the general public
    • Any event charging an entry fee/donation to attend
    • Must be booked through the Special Events Manager (575-439-4159)

Rates

Half Day Rates Available Mon-Fri only; Full Day Rates Available Mon-Sun
  • South or North Park - $36 Full Day; $22 Half Day
  • Central or North Pavilions - $45 Full Day; $28 Half Day
  • Gazebo - $45 Full Day; $28 Half Day
  • Electricity or Power Poles (call AFRC for availability) - $19 (requires 7 working day notice)

Special Event Fees (Public Events)

Fees include a $20 non-refundable processing fee.
Fees DO NOT cover extra fees (e.g. electricity, temporary stage, damage deposit, etc.)
Tier 1 - 3 Fees cover a single day rental
Tier 4 & 5 Fees cover up to a three day rental (if event is 500+ people)
$200 Damage Deposit required for all rentals (returned if no damages or clean-up fees assessed)

Special Event Extra Fees

  • Electricity Outlet/Box Fee - $25 Per Day
  • Electricity Power Pole - $25 Per Day Per Pole
  • Temporary Stage (Maximum 3 day use) - $1000 includes delivery/set up/take down
  • Vehicle Fee (up to 5 vehicles on park property) - $25 Per Day
  • Vehicle Fee (over 5 vehicles on park property) - $50 Per Day
  • Car Show Fee - $100 Per Day
  • Park Maintenance Fees are also applied (dependent on type of event/number of attendance)
