Holloman Air Force Base - Operation Allies Welcome

September 2, 2021 Task Force-Holloman welcomed the first arrival of Afghan personnel on September 1, 2021, as part of Operation Allies Welcome. #OAW is the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's mission to facilitate the safe relocation of evacuated Afghans to the United States.
“It is because of their unwavering support that we were able to receive our guests with open arms and ensure that they are treated with the utmost dignity and respect,” said Brig. Gen. Daniel Gabrielli, TF-H commander.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the U.S. Department of State and DHS, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for up to 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan evacuees essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan.
