WELCOME! The Housing Authority of the City of Alamogordo is a federally funded entity who strives to consistently offer housing to low and very low income families in the City of Alamogordo.
OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE ADEQUATE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING , ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND A SUITABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENT FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION.
The Housing Authority administers three programs to achieve its mission.
LOW RENT HOUSING - The Housing Authority maintains 220 Low Rent homes at two developments, Alta Vista and Plaza Hacienda. Please click on the link to learn more about these developments and take a VIRTUAL TOUR of one of our homes.
HOMEOWNERSHIP LEASE PURCHASE PROGRAM (NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS) - The Housing Authority purchases homes in the community and then leases the houses to first time home buyers. The leasees then purchase the homes after a certain period. Please call us for more information.
OWNER OCCUPIED REHABILITATION - The Housing Authority, in conjunction with the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority, assist low to moderate income families with rehabilitation measures to lengthen the useful life of their homes. Please call us for more information.
