CITY COMMISSION SUPPORT
Attends and records all meetings of the City Commission. Provides research and secretarial support to the City Commission. Responds to inquiries for the Mayor and Commission members, and acts as a key liaison between local government and its citizens.
Responsible for all municipal legislative processes. This includes Ordinances and Resolutions, contracts, agreements, agenda preparation, official minutes of the City Commission, and legal advertising.
Responsible for the management of all municipal elections. Issues candidate filing papers, candidate disclosure statements, and ballot measures (including initiative, referendum, and recall petitions). Administers absentee voting, election tallying, and canvassing.
Maintains and oversees updates to the Alamogordo Code of Ordinances.
BOARDS AND COMMITTEES
Coordinates the establishment and administration of, as well as appointments to, various boards and committees that advise the Commission on many complex issues. APPLICATIONS FOR VOLUNTEER SERVICE ON ALL ADVISORY BOARDS ARE ACCEPTED YEAR-ROUND.
Manages the retention and retrieval of all official documents in compliance with the State of New Mexico Records Retention and Disposition Schedule for Municipalities as adopted by the City Commission.
OPTICAL IMAGING RETRIEVAL
Have implemented and continue to achieve a document imaging program for electronic records management and retrieval.
OATHS AND FILINGS
Administers oaths, receives and records petitions, claims, lawsuits, and official notices. Offers Notary Public services to the general public at NO CHARGE.

The City Clerk's Office processes various permits which are routinely used by the public, including, but not limited to, Parade Permits, Block Party Permits, Special Events Permits, Noise Permits, Commercial Solicitor's Permits (door-to-door sales in the residential neighborhoods), and Vehicle For Hire Driver's Licenses (taxi-cabs), and Requests for Public Records.
