Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Thank you to all who attended the 3 public hearings in April 2010!
Through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the State of New Mexico receives funding each year from the Federal Government. The City of Alamogordo has the opportunity to apply to the State for funding through this program. The types of projects that qualify for funding include: 1) Community Infrastructure, 2) Housing, 3) Public Service Capital Outlay, 4) Economic Development, and 5) Planning. See below for an outline of past CDBG projects.
Staff and the Community Advisory Development Committee (7 volunteers) held several public hearings to solicit input for a CDBG application in the 2009 funding cycle.
On April 15, 2009 at the Allocation Hearings, the City of Alamogordo was awarded $500,000 towards the electrical panel upgrade project. This project is currently underway and on schedule.
