COLLECTION CENTER RULES AND REGULATIONS


Beginning July 1, 2016, Resolution 2016-10 adopted by the City Commission of the City of Alamogordo on June 26, 2016 establishing a new fee structure for the Collection Center went into effect.

All residential water utility accounts billed by the City of Alamogordo will include a $2.20 collection center surcharge.  All commercial utility accounts billed by the City of Alamogordo will include a $2.30 collection center surcharge.  Any person or entity who maintains a water utility account with the City of Alamogordo is permitted to dispose of acceptable solid waste at the collection center at no additional charge (proof of account is required).  Non-residents of the City, whether commercial or individuals, will be charged at a rate of $2.50 per 100 pounds of waste.

SERVICES PROVIDED:

This is a solid waste transfer station that accepts household garbage, furniture, yard waste, used motor oil, anti-freeze, household appliances and scrap metal. The facility serves City residents and small construction contractors. Customers are required to bring their materials to the facility. Mulch is free to the public.  We also accept commercial waste. 

*No liquids, hazardous waste, or animal remains are accepted at the center.*

The following items are accepted at the Lavelle Road location:
Vehicle Batteries,  Cell Phones and Batteries,  Rechargeable Tool Batteries,  Motor Oil / Antifreeze,  Scrap metal / Appliances,  Electronics / Ink Cartridges.
